"Ponniyin Selvan: II," also known as PS-2, is a Tamil-language epic historical action adventure film directed by Mani Ratnam. Serving as a direct sequel to "Ponniyin Selvan: I" (2022), it is the second installment based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1954 novel "Ponniyin Selvan".

Story - Starting from where the first part left off, "Ponniyin Selvan: II" takes us on a thrilling journey. Arunmozhi Varman (Jayam Ravi) and Vallavarayan Vandhiyadevudu (Karthi), who drown fighting the Pandyas, are miraculously saved by a mute woman Mandhakini (Aishwarya Rai). Arunmozhi Varman receives healing from the Buddhas in Lanka.
Meanwhile, Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) forms an alliance with the Pandyas with the aim of overthrowing the Chola dynasty. Simultaneously, Aditya, the leader of the Chola dynasty, hatches a plot to remove Karikaludu (Vikram) from power and crown Madhuranthakudu (Rahman) as the Chola king. The film unfolds the subsequent events, revealing the true identity of Mandhakini, the mystery surrounding Nandini, and the fate of Arunmozhi and Vallavarayan Vandhiyadevudu, as they return to the Chola dynasty. Ultimately, the film answers lingering questions and resolves the power dynamics at play.
While the first part faced criticism in other languages for its convoluted screenplay and multitude of characters, "Ponniyin Selvan: II" presents a clear and straightforward story without any confusion.
